"DOUGLAS SILAS SOLICITORS MOVE TO NEW OFFICES"

I am delighted to be able to inform you that we have now moved to new larger offices, about half a mile down the road at Gable House in Finchley. You will notice our new address at the top of this webpage and will see that although our address has changed, our telephone and fax numbers have not. Our email addresses also remain the same. Further details, including a map and journey planner can be accessed from our Contact Details page.

USE OF TECHNOLOGY

It is hard to believe that we started only around two and a quarter years ago on 3 May 2005 with nothing but a couple of desks and computers. However, as you may already be aware, I have consistently invested heavily in technology, both financially and in terms of our time which has provided clear and tangible benefits and an ability to undertake casework more efficiently, quickly and cost-effectively for our clients.

I am trying to be a 'different' kind of solicitor and believe that our high success rates over the past couple of years have been because we have been able to prepare cases properly by being able to access case information and resources quickly.

My intention is still to continue to develop and utilise new technology as it becomes available to be able to assist both ourselves and our clients as much as possible. I also have some new very exciting projects that I am working on currently which will hopefully push the boundaries back even further which I cannot wait to tell you about during coming months or at least (hopefully) by our 3rd anniversary!

UPDATES TO OUR WEBSITE

You may have noticed by now that we have also slightly changed the layout of our website to try and make it more easily navigable for users.

For example, the Quick Links section now appears at the top of the page (instead of the bottom), as do some of the links that used to be on our long list at the side menu. We have also removed some of the 'eye candy' which was nice to look at but not really necessary. We hope that this will make our website less 'heavy' and quicker to use for people looking for information.

Of course, the website still 'talks' to you and we have also put the ability to now 'Recommend' any webpage that you are looking at, the button for which is at the bottom of the page. If you enter an e-mail address and hit the button, the webpage 'link' will automatically be sent through your own e-mail programme.

You may also wish to use the powerful Search facility on the bottom left of the screen. It indexes every word on the site so instead of just 'searching' for something you can use it just as you would an index at the back of a book by clinking on the word in the A-Z. Eat your heart out Google!

We have also provided (as has been requested by visitors) further pages of information on our Types of SEN/Disability page. This includes information on topics like: Auditory Processing Disorder, Dysnomia, Landau Kleffner Syndrome, Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Prader-Willi Syndrome, Speech and Language Disorder, Early Intervention, Facilitated Communication, Lovaas, Music Therapy, Orton-Gillingham and the Son-Rise Programme. This means that we now have 58 pages of information on different topics related to SEN and Disability.

You will see that at the end of every information page there is a link to Further Information. This is a new page where we have grouped together all the related websites providing further which we think may be of interest to people interested in a particular type of SEN/Disability or educational approach/related processes.

You may actually work for or be a member of an organisation which can provide useful information on one or more of these topics. If so, we would be delighted if you would let us know and we will be happy to provide a 'link' to your organisation's website. We would also be grateful if you would be willing to provide a reciprocal link to our site from yours. You can find out more information about how to do this by clicking on Link to/from this Website at the top of any page.

Before signing off, I hope that you will not mind me asking you to ensure that you update your address details for us as soon as possible.

With my best wishes, as always.

Douglas
