Appealing to the SEND Tribunal (Video)
We have provided here a copy of the video which is sent out to parents who are appealing to the Special Eeducational Needs and Disability (SEND) Tribunal, after their appeal has been registered. It gives an idea of what to expect in an appeal. It has been subtitled.
Our thanks go to the Tribunal for providing this video online for people to see.
As the whole video lasts for about 20 minutes, the Tribunal has had to split it up into six parts which all deal with specific topics/issues.
Part 1 - In this chapter, Judge John Aitken welcomes you to the film.
Part 2 - In this chapter, we show you who everyone is at the Tribunal, and also explain their role.
Part 3 - In this chapter, we give you some basic advice to help you prepare for your appeal.
Part 4 - In this chapter, we recreate a tribunal to show you what you can expect to experience on the day of the hearing.
Part 5 - In this chapter, parents and others talk about their experiences at a tribunal hearing.
Part 6 - In this chapter we answer some frequently asked questions that you might have about the hearing.
